In 1991
we purchased our first two grade does. We loved their
personalities, so it didn't take long before we realized
that it was not going to be a novelty, but something we
wanted to become seriously involved with. In 1996 we
purchased our first two purebred Saanens, GayMor
Sno-Cal's Jubilant and Windmill
Acres Mystic. They have become the two foundation does
of our herd. Jubilant has produced many grand champion
daughters and granddaughters. Mystic has also produced many
grand champion daughters and in 1999 was the number one ADGA
Breed Leader in milk and butterfat. She has and is still
working hard. Our greatest thrill came at the ADGA National
Show in Harrisburg in 2004. Mystic's granddaughters, Reanna,
placed 8th in the three-year-old class. Jubilant's progeny
respectably as well, with Arista
placing 12th in the 2-year-old class, Kiley
12th and Jezabell 20th in the
three-year-old class. But the greatest honor of all came
when our does were awarded the first place Senior Get of
Sire, and second place dam and daughter was bestowed upon
Jezabell and Arista. This achievement was the result of many
years of selective breeding and very hard work. We are
serious about maintaining quality, not quantity.
We have
many people to thank for their help and support through the
years, but none as much as Joy and Barbara Broaddus. Without
their guidance and support, we would not have had these
wonderful experiences. We have also been fortunate to acquire several does from the lovely Albanhaus herd.
Thank you Joe and Doris.
This has
been a year of many ups and downs for us, with some
disappointments. We lost the very lovely Promise and
beautiful Kiley. But it has also been a year of hope, with
lovely new does and doelings that give us promise in 2007.
They also came through for us with their outstanding show
record, including 3x Best Dairy Herd. 1st place Get of Sire,
1st place Dam & Daughter, 1st place Junior Get, and 1st
place Breeders Trio at the New Jersey State Fair. We have
two great additions to our herd sires, one a son of Willow
Run Scorpion King and one a son of Windsor Manor
Dreamboy.
Their pedigrees are listed on our Sire
page. Again, as always, thanks for visiting with us, and
hope to hear from you soon. May 2007 be full of hope and
promise for you as well.
We would
also like to take this opportunity to thank our good friend,
Heather Tucker and her family, owners of Lit'l Dutch
LaManchas, for helping us take all of these wonderful photos
for our website. One thing is for certain, we do make some
good friends in the business.
We have
been on DHIA for as long as we have had goats and have begun
to linear appraise. Our herd health management includes TB
and Brucellosis testing annually. We raise all of our kids
on pasteurized milk and our goats test CAE negative. We have
a strict worming and vaccination program. So, are you ready?
Come meet the girls.
